MonkViewer Enterprise · In development

Helpdesk access.
The employee says when.

A separate edition for supporting a company's computers. Technicians sign in with the company's identity provider, and nothing opens until the person at the computer allows it.

Not available yet. For the app you can use today, on your own devices, see MonkViewer.

What it is

Made for a helpdesk.

Sign-in, not pairing

Technicians sign in through your identity provider with OpenID Connect. Authentik is the first one it is being built against. Computers keep no list of technician devices: a signed-in device gets a pass that runs out, after an hour by default.

Approved every session

The employee sees the technician's name and email, then types a six-digit code the technician reads out. No unattended access, and no setting, policy or MDM switch that turns the prompt off.

Your server, your keys

Each company runs its own server next to its identity provider. It signs the passes and keeps the audit log, and it never carries the screen. DigitalMonks holds none of your keys or sign-ins.

Rolled out by MDM

Hosts for Mac and Windows, installed and configured by Apple MDM, Group Policy or Intune, with nothing to pair on each computer. Technicians get an app of their own.

One connection

How a session starts.

  1. 1The technician signs in and picks a computer.
Their device presents its pass, signed by your server. The computer checks it with the key MDM gave it.
  2. 2The employee is asked.
A prompt on their own screen shows who wants to connect. No answer in 30 seconds counts as no, and a locked or signed-out computer refuses by itself.
  3. 3The employee types the code.
Six digits, read out by the technician, good for that one connection. Three wrong codes end the request, and repeated failures pause new requests for ten minutes.
In development

Written and tested: the connection core that checks the pass and holds every session until the code is typed.

Not built yet: the server, the Mac and Windows hosts, the technician app and the MDM packages.

Nothing to download yet, and no date. The packages on the home page connect paired devices; they have no sign-in.

As with the rest of MonkViewer, the cryptographic design is not independently audited. See privacy & data flow.

Free, like everything else here.

Two editions

Which one is which.

MonkViewer connects devices you paired yourself. MonkViewer Enterprise is for a helpdesk, and works differently on purpose.
